| |
Joe Van Valer has over 30 years of experience in
construction, real estate, and corporate law. A graduate of
Franklin College and the Indiana University School of Law, Joe
served as Prosecuting Attorney for the Eighth Judicial Circuit,
State of Indiana from 1967 to 1974 and was a partner with Van
Valer & Williams, and all predecessor firms, before founding Van
Valer Law Firm in 1996.
The author of numerous published articles on real estate and
construction law issues, Joe is a Graduate Builder Institute
Instructor in Indiana and Kentucky. He is also a noted lecturer
on the topics of implied warranties and construction contracts.
To reduce litigation involving residential construction, Joe
conceived and promoted legislation clarifying the law of implied
warranties for the benefit of residential builders and home
buyers.
Joe served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Home
Warranty Corporation of Washington D.C. for more than five
years, and he has served on the Builders Association of Greater
Indianapolis Board of Directors since 1975. He is a Life
Director for both the Indiana Builders Association and the
National Association of Home Builders.
Joe is the recipient of several distinguished honors including
the State of Indiana Governor’s Commendation, the Builders
Association of Greater Indianapolis’ Outstanding Service to the
Industry award and the Johnson County Builders’ Council Man of
the Year award. In 2007, he was named Parliamentarian Emeritus
by the Builders Association of Greater Indianapolis.
