After graduating in 1991 from Indiana University School of Law, Kim practiced law with her father’s firm primarily in the areas of real estate, land use and contracts. Within a year of being admitted to the practice of law, Kim began receiving requests to serve as a substitute judge. In 1994, the elected Judges in Johnson County selected Kim to preside as full time Magistrate to assist them in handling small claims and misdemeanor criminal cases. Elected herself in 1996 as Superior Court Judge, Kim presided over a general jurisdiction docket for 12 years handling a wide range of cases in both civil and criminal law. Her judicial experience includes a high volume criminal calendar managed simultaneously with varied and complex civil litigation.
