Long before Tom Vander Luitgaren became a partner at Van
Valer Law Firm, he was already making his mark at Indiana
University where he earned numerous academic, leadership, and
service awards, as well as a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal
Justice. Tom’s involvement with his college fraternity continued
when he became Director of Risk Management and Insurance at
Theta Chi Fraternity, Incorporated. He received Theta Chi’s
Sherwood Blue Graduate Scholarship Award for superior
contribution to the Fraternity movement in 1995, 1996 and 1997.
Tom’s areas of practice include estate planning and probate,
real estate and business litigation, zoning, and construction.
He is a past presenter for the National Business Institute,
where he discussed zoning and land use law and litigation. He
has also presented on statutory warranties for the Indiana
Builders Association and on antitrust laws with regard to
homebuilders for the Builders Association of Greater
Indianapolis.
Tom is an active member in the following organizations: Builders
Association of Greater Indianapolis, Alpha Iota Realty
Corporation, and Business Network International. He is also a
member of the Johnson County, Indiana State, and Indianapolis
Bar Associations.
